A Data Protection Officer (DPO) at Dstny is characterized by a strong combination of technical knowledge, legal expertise and communication skills. This professional has a proven track record in guiding international organizations in implementing and complying with privacy legislation such as GDPR/AVG.
Core competencies:
Thorough knowledge of privacy legislation: Deep knowledge of GDPR and relevant national legislation, with the ability to translate this into practical advice and policies within various sectors.
Advice & implementation: Experience in setting up and maintaining privacy management systems, conducting data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), and advising management and employees.
Stakeholder management: Strong in maintaining relationships at all levels within the organization, from operational to strategic, and acting as a bridge between IT, legal, and business.
Training & awareness: Actively involved in providing training, workshops, and awareness sessions on privacy and data protection.
Project management: Skilled in leading privacy projects, coordinating audits, and following up on improvement processes.
Communicative & analytical: Excellent written and oral communication, combined with analytical skills to clearly unravel and solve complex privacy issues.
Background & Experience:
Bachelor's or master's degree in law, IT, or a relevant field.
Certification as a DPO or proven experience in a similar role.
3+ years experience in guiding international organizations in implementing and complying with privacy legislation.
Affinity with technology, digitization, and changing regulations.
For this role, we expect excellent command of English while proficiency in Dutch and/or French are a plus.
Presence of at least 3x/week in Zaventem is required.
